ACT2 was established 

by Marshall Sapherson in 2018.


ACT2 exists to support individuals (students and adults) with an interest in developing their performance, language, media and communication skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

LAMDA is the most highly respected provider of graded qualifications in communication skills and in the performing arts. 


LAMDA examinations are typically taken by students aged 6 to 20.

Students normally take one LAMDA exam each year. For ambitious students taking private course it is possible to complete two LAMDA qualifications within one year.  Please email us to learn more - info@act2.ch

MARSHALL SAPHERSON   BA, PGCE, PG Dip Drama, LTCP

(Director) - Leeds UK / Geneva CH / Online

Marshall is a Drama, Media and Theatre specialist and Drama honours graduate of Bristol University. He has over 30 years experience as a school teacher, University lecturer and as a Directing, Acting and LAMDA coach.  He worked as Head of Drama for over 15 years at the International School of Geneva (LGB), he holds a formal LAMDA teaching qualification and is also the official representative for LAMDA examinations for Switzerland.


GIULIA F.   BA, MA

(Associate Teacher) - Vaud CH / Online

Giulia is a Theatre for Education specialist and an experienced drama teacher with a first class Hons BA in Drama and Theatre Studies from Royal Holloway University of London. Moreover, she achieved an MA in Art Médiation from the Haute École d'Art et Design of Genève. With over 10 years of teaching experience, Giulia specialised in EduTheatre and is writer and director of Theatre for Young Audiences. In her career she had the opportunity to lead workshops and projects in the UK and abroad, as well as speaking in conferences on education internationally.


VALERIE C.   BA

(Associate Teacher) - Geneva CH / Online

Valerie is a very experienced Performing Arts teacher and a Musical Theatre BA Honours graduate of Goldsmiths, University of London. During her training, she focused primarily on acting techniques, classical singing, voice techniques and the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA). Valerie also has experience teaching Speech and English as a Foreign Language (EFL), singing, and worked as a professional actress. She is currently working as a LAMDA teacher at The International School Of Geneva and with ACT2.CH.


MELANIE A.  BA

(Associate Teacher) - London UK / Geneva CH / Online

Melanie (French-American) is an actor-singer based in London. She attended Royal Holloway University of London, studying producing, directing & screenwriting. Melanie has a unique insight into both on and off screen competencies and was signed by a well known talent management agency, enabling the pursuit of a career in the arts, with a primary focus on screen acting roles.  Melanie’s passions are on-screen acting, as well as jazz, pop rock & classical singing.  As a fluent speaker of French & English and a classically trained singer and pianist, for over 10 years Melanie has been teaching languages, music and acting to a wide variety of students from around the world from the age of 4 to 64.


Marc C.  BCS , Dip

(Associate Teacher) - Vaud CH / Online

Marc is an actor, director, producer and teacher from New Zealand. He entered his “first love” of theatre from the tender age of four, playing a rambunctious sunflower. Marc went on to study theatre for the stage and screen at Auckland Performing Arts School, and performing in numerous plays, musicals and TV series. He then turned his hand to directing and writing for television and film. While working on TV productions, he taught drama part-time to teens and also worked as an ESL teacher (English as a Second Language) for newly arrived refugees to New Zealand. After a stint overseas teaching drama and video production, Marc returned to New Zealand to complete his Bachelor in Communication Studies. He graduated with first-class honours and worked as a journalist, presenter, director and producer for radio and TV in New Zealand, Korea, China and Singapore. Since arriving in Switzerland Marc, has continued his work in theatre, television and education, performing and directing numerous in Geneva and Vaud.  He is a specialist in young adult and adult EduTheatre.


Wendy O.  BA, PGCE

(Associate Teacher) - Vaud CH / Online

With over 20 years of experience teaching English, Drama and Public Speaking to students aged 3 - adults, Wendy is an outstanding educational practitioner who nurtures enduring relationships with her students.. Her previous jobs both in Switzerland and in the UK, have equipped her with the skills and insight necessary to adapt lessons according to the individual needs, abilities, and capabilities of her students. She prides herself in creating engaging and dynamic long-term plans and lessons that not only adhere to the curriculum but are student-centred, innovative, fun and inspire a love for learning and self-expression among her students.


Sophia P.  BA 

(Associate Teacher) - Zurich CH / Online

Sophia is a German, French, Swiss, US-American theatre-maker who grew up trilingual (French, English and German) in Geneva, Switzerland. After studying Drama with Film and Television Studies at the University of Bristol, UK, she completed the two-year acting conservatory at the renowned William Esper Studio, New York.

Since then she has performed internationally in various short films and theatre productions; a personal highlight was the ensemble work with Dramatic Adventure Theatre, where she travelled for one month through Tanzania to give theatre workshops to HIV-positive and disadvantaged children and devised an original play with the other artists (Nisikilize/Hear Me performed at the Zanzibar Film Festival and in NYC). Working for and with children has been a passion of Sophia’s throughout her career.

Though she is still working occasionally as an actress, over the last 6 years Sophia has worked primarily as an Associate Director and Director in Germany and Switzerland. She directed the contemporary children’s opera Gold! by Leonard Evers in Freiberg, Germany, which had its premiere at Theater Kanton Zürich on November 2024.
